The Full-Time CMO Is Not Just Expensive. Usually They Are the Wrong Hire.

Hire a CMO out of a company ten times your size and they will do what worked there. Build a team. Write a plan. Commission a rebrand. Ask for eighteen months and a budget to match.

They are not wrong. That is honestly how it works at that scale. It is just not what you need, and you find out about a year in, once the runway is shorter and the pipeline looks the same.

There is also the part nobody screens for. Your buyers now ask AI which vendor to shortlist before they ever reach Google. A CMO from a famous brand has never had to solve that, because at their last company the answer was already their company.

You do not need eighteen months and a plan. You need pipeline.

Let me help make a difference:

I own the number, and everything that moves it

  • Strategy and roadmap. Where we are going, in what order, and why.

  • All three engines. Inbound, paid, and outbound, built and run as one system.

  • AI search visibility. I have reviewed 200+ B2B tech companies. Almost none show up when a buyer asks an AI about the problem they solve. This is the cheapest advantage left in B2B.

  • Your team. Hiring, direction, and performance.

  • Vendors and agencies. Briefed, managed, and held to a number.

  • The reporting. Monthly, to you and your board, on pipeline and revenue.

You walk away with

One person accountable for pipeline and revenue, not activity

→  Three engines compounding instead of three separate experiments

→  A marketing function that runs on a system instead of heroics

→  Board reporting that survives a hard question

Best for

  • Founders & CEOs who could probably afford a full-time CMO and have worked out that it is the wrong move right now. B2B tech or SaaS, real product, customers, and a pipeline that has stopped moving.

THE FIRST 90 DAYS

What Actually Happens If You Say Yes

The most reasonable question you can ask, and the one most fractional CMOs answer with a discovery phase. Here is the real version.

Day 1 to 30 : Diagnosis and positioning

I go through all of it. Positioning, website, content, AI search visibility, paid, outbound, funnel. Then we fix the message, because everything downstream of a wrong message is wasted money.

Day 31 to 60: Build

Inbound, paid, and outbound get built as one system instead of three experiments. Anything already working gets kept. I am not here to redecorate.

Day 61 to 90: Run and prove

We run it, read it, and fix what is not working. Then the first honest reporting, including the parts that did not work.

After that: I keep running it and improving it. Positioning gets sharper, the engines compound, and you get a monthly read on pipeline and revenue. This is the part that does not fit in ninety days, and it is the part that produces most of the result.

SUCCESS STORIES

What this looks like in practice.

HEALTHCARE AI PLATFORM

A 6-figure enterprise deal from improved ABM system

Barely 2% of their emails were getting opened. We rebuilt the account-based email system around what buyers actually cared about, fixed the targeting, and rewrote every message. Opens climbed to 8-10%, and pipeline brought in a 6-figure enterprise deal.

2.5x increase in pipeline for a performance engineering company

The agency the CEO hired were doing a really bad job with no real numbers to show. They hired me to fix that and make it better. Their marketing systems got better, inbound stabilized, and leads & pipeline improved significantly.

From declining traffic to ~$90-100K monthly
pipeline for a dev company

From 15k to 2k per month and traffic continued dwindling with no remedy. I helped remove over 200+ unnecessary pages from their site, create a proper organic growth strategy, improve content and established link building. Traffic went up to 5k/month and pipeline grew 3x.

FAQs

B2B Fractional CMO Questions

  • Because at your stage they usually build a team and a plan when what you need is pipeline. A CMO from a company ten times your size will run the playbook that worked there, and it takes about a year to find out it does not work here. A fractional CMO is not the cheap version of that hire. It is a different hire, built for the stage you are actually at.

  • Less than a full-time CMO, and it depends on scope. I do not publish a fixed price because the right scope for a ten-person startup and a hundred-person firm are not the same. Bring your situation to the call and you will leave with a number.

  • I do not sell hours. I sell an outcome. If the pipeline number needs more of me in a given month, it gets more of me.

  • Yes, and often that is the right move. If they are good at execution, they stay and I set the strategy and hold them to a number. If they are the reason nothing is working, you will know that within the first thirty days and it will be your call.

  • An agency answers to a brief. I answer to a number. There is no account manager, no team of juniors, and no layer between you and the person doing the work.

  • I lead them. Most teams do not need replacing, they need someone senior above them setting direction. If there is a real gap, I help you hire into it.

  • This is an ongoing partnership by design. Marketing that produces pipeline is not a project you finish. We agree the shape on the call.
